Technician repairing an electric clothes dryer

Expert Gas & Electric Dryer Repair

A malfunctioning dryer does more than just leave you with baskets of damp, musty laundry. When a dryer starts making loud screeching noises, takes hours to dry a single load, or feels excessively hot to the touch, it often points to airflow restrictions or failing mechanical parts that can become serious fire hazards.

At Neatlyon, our licensed appliance experts have extensive experience repairing both standard electric dryers and complex gas-powered units. We carry specialized diagnostic tools to test high-limit thermostats, moisture sensors, and thermal fuses. By keeping our service vans fully stocked with OEM heating elements, drum belts, and idler pulleys, we aim to get your laundry routine back to normal on our very first visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dryer problems are stressful. Here are the answers to the most common issues our GTA technicians solve every day.

In an electric dryer, this usually means the heating element has burned out or a thermal fuse has blown. In a gas dryer, it points to a faulty gas valve coil or a broken igniter. These are standard repairs. Note: If a thermal fuse blows, it is almost always caused by a clogged exhaust vent trapping heat inside the machine.
Stop using the dryer to prevent further damage. A loud squeaking or screeching sound is typically caused by worn-out drum rollers, a failing idler pulley, or dry drum glide bearings. A deep thumping sound often means the drive belt is fraying and about to snap. We can replace these moving parts and restore quiet operation.
Long dry times are the #1 indicator of severely restricted airflow. Your machine is producing heat, but the moist air has nowhere to go. This is usually caused by heavy lint buildup in your home's exhaust duct or a clogged internal blower wheel. This drastically increases your energy bill and is a major fire risk. Our technicians can assess the airflow and recommend the proper fix.
