Cleaning up a newly renovated home

Expert Post-Renovation & Construction Cleaning

The contractors have finally packed up their tools, but your newly renovated space is far from ready to live in. Fine drywall dust coats every surface, sawdust hides inside the air vents, and protective stickers are still glued to your brand-new windows and appliances. Contractors are builders, not cleaners—that is where we come in.

Post-construction cleaning requires specialized equipment and techniques. Standard household vacuums will simply blow fine drywall dust back into the air, and abrasive scrubbing can easily scratch freshly painted walls or new marble countertops. At Neatlyon, our post-renovation crews use industrial-grade HEPA filtration vacuums to trap airborne particles. We meticulously wipe down every wall, baseboard, and light fixture, ensuring your beautiful new space is safe, breathable, and move-in ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Renovation cleanups require a different approach than standard housekeeping. Here are the answers to the most common questions we receive from homeowners and builders.

You should schedule our team only after all the contractors have completely finished their work and removed their tools. If we come in to clean while a painter or electrician is still doing touch-ups, new dust will settle immediately, defeating the purpose of the deep clean.
No, we do not haul away heavy debris like scrap wood, leftover drywall, tiles, or large trash. Your general contractor is responsible for the "rough clean" and debris removal. Our team specializes in the "final detail clean," which focuses on removing the fine dust, smudges, and dirt to make the home livable.
Drywall dust is highly abrasive. If you simply wipe it with a wet rag, it acts like sandpaper on new finishes. We use industrial HEPA vacuums with soft-bristle brush attachments to gently lift the dust *before* we ever apply a damp microfiber cloth. We also use specific, non-abrasive pH-neutral cleaners to protect unsealed stone, marble, and hardwood.
